Foldable game board of ebony, assembled with iron hinges and old tacks. Each half has 6 round recesses (12 in total) and the game is played with 2 x 24 seeds (berries, pebbles, shells, etc.). This centuries-old sowing and harvest game for 2 people was already played in ancient Egypt. It is known throughout West-Africa under dozens of different names, such as oware, wari, abape, awale and mancala. The rules of the game can be found on www.oware.org.
